The overcrowded boat, which had a capacity of approximately 15 passengers, was carrying around 25 to 30 people when it struck a pontoon bridge and capsized on April 10. Five people remain missing. The victims were part of a group of pilgrims from Punjab's Ludhiana and Muktsar districts. Tour Guide Killed in Phuket Speedboat Explosion, Thailand
A 23-year-old tour guide, Komphet Wandi, was killed and five others were injured when a speedboat exploded and caught fire at Ao Makham customs pier in Phuket on April 6. The blast occurred around 11:00 a.m. aboard the vessel Tequila, which was moored at the deep-sea port for servicing. Five crew members were hospitalized, and divers later recovered Wandi's body trapped beneath the wreckage of the sunken speedboat. Authorities suspect a fuel system failure as the cause, and investigations are ongoing.
