Lake Thunderbird Jet Ski Drowning Kills 19-Year-Old From Harrah, Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol dive team recovered the body of 19-year-old George Gouldsby of Harrah on Friday morning at approximately 10 a.m., after a jet ski incident the previous Thursday at around 7:35 p.m. at Lake Thunderbird near Norman. Gouldsby and 20-year-old Coriaun Jackson of Oklahoma City were thrown from the personal watercraft after making a sharp turn; a bystander pulled Jackson from the water in stable condition, but Gouldsby never resurfaced. Officials confirmed that neither rider was wearing a life-saving vest at the time of the crash.

Boat Explosion at Lake Lanier's Land Shark Cove Injures Seven, Including 5-Year-Old

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources responded just before 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, to a boat fire and flash explosion in Land Shark Cove at Lake Lanier Islands near Buford. According to investigators, the hull blower was not activated prior to starting the vessel, causing fuel vapors to ignite inside the hull and eject one occupant into the water, who was recovered by nearby boaters. Seven people, including a child as young as five, were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville with non-life-threatening injuries.

14-Year-Old Shell Knob Boy Drowns at Table Rock Lake

The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed that 14-year-old Ean Heuback of Shell Knob drowned at Table Rock Lake on Friday, May 16, 2026, after jumping into the water from a dock east of Shell Knob and being overcome by wind and waves. First responders were dispatched at 1:06 p.m. and recovered the teen's body at 8:50 p.m. Heuback was not wearing a life jacket when he entered the water.
