Four Killed in Catamaran–Yacht Collision in Croatia's Split Channel

On the morning of Sunday, June 14, 2026, the passenger catamaran Krilo Eclipse collided with a French-flagged charter yacht in the Split Channel, in the waters between the islands of Brač and Šolta off the Croatian coast, killing four people who were aboard the yacht. Croatian authorities announced on June 17 that a 33-year-old crew member — reported to be the catamaran's first officer — had been arrested on suspicion of a criminal offence against transport safety, and the country's interior minister said investigators suspect navigation safety regulations may have been breached. The four victims were foreign nationals, reported to be citizens of the Czech Republic.
