Woman Seriously Injured in Jet Ski Hit-and-Run on Osage River, Missouri
A 43-year-old Jefferson City woman was seriously injured Saturday evening, July 25, when the personal watercraft she was riding struck a shallow spot in the Osage River arm upstream from the St. Thomas Ferry access in Cole County, Missouri, around 6:15 p.m. The woman was ejected from the jet ski, and the 23-year-old male driver rode off from the scene, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. The driver was not hurt, and it remains unclear whether he was arrested.

Kansas Man Drowns at Dock in Buck Creek Cove, Lake of the Ozarks
A 62-year-old man from Shawnee, Kansas, drowned at the Lake of the Ozarks on Saturday afternoon, July 25, after entering the water from a dock in Buck Creek Cove around 4:40 p.m. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the man surfaced once before going back under the water. A dive team recovered his body at 8:03 p.m. that evening.

Crew Member Killed in Drone Strike on Iranian Cargo Vessel in Caspian Sea
One seafarer was killed and three crew members were injured when an Iranian commercial vessel came under Ukrainian long-range drone attack in the Caspian Sea on Saturday, July 25, according to a regional Iranian governor. The ship, carrying a cargo of steel from Russia's Astrakhan Port to Iran's Anzali Port, had its bridge destroyed in the strike and was left unable to continue its voyage. Ukraine said the strikes targeted vessels involved in military cargo shipments between Iran and Russia; Iran has warned of retaliation.
