Fishing Vessel Nora J Sinks After Collision 22 Miles Off Grays Harbor, Washington
The U.S. Coast Guard rescued three crew members after the commercial fishing vessels Nora J and Tabitha collided about 22 miles offshore of Grays Harbor, Washington, on Tuesday, July 21. A 47-foot motor lifeboat crew from Station Grays Harbor removed all three mariners from the damaged wooden vessel before it sank in roughly 300 feet of water after dewatering efforts failed. No injuries were reported, and the Coast Guard credited the swift response with preventing anyone from entering the water.

Passenger Killed by Propeller After Being Thrown From Boat at Bois d'Arc Lake, Texas
A man died after he and the boat's driver were thrown from their vessel while turning in a circle on Bois d'Arc Lake in Fannin County, Texas, according to the Fannin County Sheriff's Office lake patrol. The unmanned boat continued spinning and struck the passenger with its propeller; he died en route to Bonham Hospital, while the driver was not seriously hurt. The victim's identity had not been released as of the initial report on Monday, July 20.
